Dear Family and Friends,

We’re so thrilled that you are joining us to celebrate our wedding.  It means so much to us that you’ve made this journey to be with us and we can’t wait to spend time with you over the coming days.

On the following pages are a schedule of events, and some additional information:

 

Friday 17th July

Meleto Castle Tour and Wine Tasting (optional) 2pm and 4pm

There will be two castle tours and free wine tastings organised throughout the weekend for those who are interested.  Both tours take place on Friday 17th July, one at 2pm, the other at 4pm.  The meeting place for these tours will be the reception at Castello di Meleto.  You can simply show up, no reservation necessary.

Aside from the castle tour and wine tasting the day is yours to do as you please.  There are two pools which you can chill out and relax by, or go and explore the local areas.

There is a restaurant at the bottom of the hill as you approach the castle called La Fornace di Meleto, which serves lunch.  No need to book.  Or you could head off into town for one of the many restaurants in Gaiole or Radda.

Pizza Party 7pm, Picnic Area.  Dress code – Casual

We are hosting a pizza party for dinner which will take place in the wooded picnic area.  Wine will be served at dinner, but if you would like to bring alcoholic drinks please do so as there won’t be a bar.

 

Saturday 18th July – The Wedding Day!

The morning and early afternoon of the big day are for you to relax by the pool.  We’d recommend that you get a light lunch as there will be plenty of food served throughout the late afternoon and evening.  Just be sure to leave yourself enough time to get glam for the big event!

Welcome drink: 3:45pm The Herb Garden

We would like to welcome all of our guests to meet at 3:45pm prompt, in the herb garden in the castle grounds where some refreshing drinks will be served.  From here we will walk together to the wedding ceremony.

Formal Events: Wedding Ceremony 4:30pm

The wedding ceremony will take place at the highest point of the grounds at 4:30pm by the villa.  We kindly ask that no photos or videos are taken during the ceremony please.

Cocktails and Reception: 5:30pm onwards

Cocktails and canapés will be served in the herb garden, followed by dinner in the castle gardens overlooking the beautiful vineyards.  Following the meal we will head into the castle itself to dance until we drop!

There will be a free bar until 1am. After this it will be a cash bar.

 

Sunday 19th July

Pool Party and BBQ: 2pm

The pool party will be taking place at the pool nearest the castle.  The BBQ will be served in the stable in the castle gardens.

Wine will be served during the BBQ, but if you would like to bring more alcoholic drinks please do so as there will be no cash bar.

 

Monday 20th July

Final farewell after breakfast before we head off on our honeymoon!

Additional Information

Weather

During the day the weather can get very hot so we recommend wearing plenty of lotion. In the evening the temperature can get chilly, so you may want to bring appropriate clothes.

Breakfast at Castello di Meleto

Breakfast is provided for the castle rooms and Canonica’s.  If you would like to add breakfast to your apartments, the cost is approximately €12 per person.  Please inform the reception that you’d like breakfast, as they have a small kitchen and will need to make arrangements for additional guests.  Breakfast is served in the castle, from 8am to 10am.  On Sunday, breakfast will be served from 9am to 11am

Alternatively, you can order croissants and coffee delivered to your room for €6 per day.   Or for those or you with kitchens in your accommodation, there is a local supermarket where you might like to pick up supplies from.
